Today I lost Julius, my DTHM I just got about a month ago. I have not had bettas for a while and he was my first back into it. I felt I connection to him immediately, I felt a bond with him that I had only felt with one other betta, Abacus, who was my first betta as an adult on my own years ago. I am still in shock, he was here one minute and gone the next. I came home today at 9pm and he was floating vertically and unresponsive. Darn Crayfish.

0 min read
So yesterday I woke up in the morning to find a dead balloon molly in the 20g where Margaret, the marbled crayfish, lives. I know crayfish are known to kill fish but I honestly did not suspect her. She has never attacked the fish before and would even let them rub up against her without reacting. Well this morning I wake up to find yet another chewed up balloon molly, this one still alive. She is ripped up to all hell and swimming crooked. I went to get a net to take her out to treat her and Margaret jumps off a rock, lands on the molly, and drags her away! I managed to poke her under a rock and made her let go. The Molly is now in a QT tank
